Santa Barbara, California – May 5, 2011 – In a competitive bid process, the City of Santa Barbara has selected Jensen Audio Visual (JAV) to install new display monitors, and refurbish existing equipment, for flight information in the new airline terminal. The new terminal, whose expected completion is this summer, will keep the more than 750,000 annual passengers on-track at the Santa Barbara Municipal Airport with real-time arrival and departure information.

Creating a cohesive flow of information for passengers, nine new NEC display monitors will be installed throughout the new terminal and Baggage Claim area. In addition to the flight monitor displays, new and existing advertising monitors will be mounted throughout the building.

“In a sense, the terminal displays are the unofficial ‘meet-n-greet’ committee for the three-quarters of a million travelers passing through the Airport each year; keeping passengers up-to-date, minute-by-minute, with easy to use equipment is our goal,” says Kelly Jensen, president, Jensen Audio Visual. “Just like everybody else, we will be using the Airport, too. We know how important it is to keep it moving. We will take pride in the job.”

The Airline Terminal Project at Santa Barbara Municipal Airport, a $32-million upgrade, will provide larger boarding gate areas, centralized passenger screening, concessions, improved ground transportation access, improved ground transportation access, boarding bridges and additional restrooms.

Specializing in complete audio visual system design and integration, JAV is a leader in the field of audio visual on the Central Coast. In addition to the Airport Terminal Project, JAV is also currently working with Cottage Health Systems on renovations to Santa Barbara’s Cottage Hospital.
